The Health & Wellness Center @ BCO was started in 2014 as a holistic alternative for BCO patients. We focus on the whole body and offer an array of services to help with injuries as well as injury prevention. We look at the root of the cause of illness or injury and offer treatment options such as chiropractic, naturopathic medicine, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, acupuncture, cupping, laser therapy, active recovery therapy, sport taping, physiotherapy, hormone balancing, fertility, nutrition, neuromuscular re-education and much more. We are always extending our services as technology arises and our department grows to better suit our patient's needs. We believe strongly in the body's ability to heal itself if we create an optimal healing state.

Meet Our Team

Julia Moen, DC

Dr. Julia Moen is one of five children born into a family of Medical Doctors. Originally from Chicago, she received her undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology. Dr. Julia was a student athletic trainer and worked alongside many sports teams, and was an All-American field hockey player and captain of her college team. Prior to attending Chiropractic School, she volunteered in medical clinics in Bangladesh and Ecuador where she received hands on experience in medicine. She has experience working in physical therapy departments, aquatics and on land, as well as orthopedic surgeon's assistant who specialized in knees and shoulders.  

For graduate school, Dr. Julia attended Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles. She graduated Salutatorian and was the clinic excellence award winner. After graduating, she worked in collaboration with medical facilities at USC and Venice Family Clinic. She also received special recognition for her volunteer work in clinic. Dr. Julia worked and traveled with various pro and semi-pro teams and helped with various event coverage.  

Dr. Julia is a Certified Sports Chiropractor and certified in various techniques and modalities.  She also specializes in Women’s Health, is Webster certified, and is a prenatal and post partum exercise specialist.  Dr. Julia is currently finishing Functional Medicine School. She spends her free time with her husband and three kids, and is always educating herself with the latest coursework and technology.  

 
Diane Kim, Acupuncturist

Diane Kim, Acupuncturist

Diane Kim is a Licensed Acupuncturist and a Clinical Herbalist.  Diane is from Los Angeles, and received her BA from UCLA.  She then went on to earning her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Southern California University of Health Science, in 2006.  Since the beginning of her career, Diane has worked alongside orthopedic surgeons and medical doctors to incorporate eastern medicine for a more holistic care.

She has a wide range of clinical experiences, treating people of all ages for a diversity of health issues including, pain and injuries, stress and anxiety, digestive and respiratory problems, to name a few.  She provides an interdisciplinary approach to her care, incorporating many of the traditional Asian medicine techniques, such as acupuncture, cupping, and moxibustion.

Diane has gone back to her roots and taught as a Clinical Supervisor for her alma mater (SCU), working at a community clinic, helping chronically ill patients.  Diane strongly believes that teaching people about their health and demystifying their bodies help people take a proactive approach to their well-being.

 

Anthony Ramos, DC

Dr. Anthony Ramos has been a local of the South Bay area for 15 years. He went to North Torrance High School where he played football all four years and continued to play football in college. Dr. Anthony received his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine from Cal State Dominguez Hills. He got his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences. Dr. Anthony has been working with various athletic teams in the area. During his free time, he likes to stay active at the gym doing weight training and enjoys the company of friends and family.

 

Victoria Hall, DC

Dr. Victoria Hall was born and raised in Torrance, CA. She received her Bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. Dr. Victoria was lucky to know at 17 years of age that she wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic. She attended Palmer College of Chiropractic-West. During her time at chiropractic school she attended many seminars and was active on Palmer West’s Sports Council by being on the executive team and treated patients and many sporting events such as Sea Otter and The North Face Endurance Challenge. She was president of Palmer West Student International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (SFICS) club. During the clinical part of chiropractic school she spent time at the Palo Alto VA Healthcare System treating Veterans with chiropractic care. She was fortunate to have had the ability to observe other healthcare professionals such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Interventional Radiology, PM&R, Acupuncture, Neurologist, and Spinal Cord Injury Clinic. This unique collaboration with multiple providers enlightened Dr. Victoria on the value and importance of working together with other healthcare professionals to provide better care for patients.

As of recently, Dr. Victoria is Webster Certified which is a specialization in treating pregnant women. To further her education in sports, she is currently enrolled in the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician course that is set to end in the June 2022. In Dr. Victoria’s free time, she attends Gracie Jiu Jitsu classes, reads fiction books, goes to the gym, and snuggles up with her cat!

 

Courtland McCoy, DC

Dr. Courtland McCoy is a dedicated rehab chiropractor with a passion for helping active individuals recover from sports and life-related injuries. Throughout his clinical experience, he honed a diverse skillset in musculoskeletal assessment and diagnosis, soft tissue techniques, rehabilitative exercises, and chiropractic adjustments. During his clinical rotations, Dr. McCoy had the opportunity to work with leading sports medicine providers on the sidelines and in clinical settings.

As a lifelong athlete, Courtland understands the unique demands placed on the body during training and competition. His background in strength and conditioning, including program design for a weightlifting gym and working with elite barbell athletes, further informs his approach to patient care.

Courtland strives to provide a comprehensive approach to patient care, addressing not only symptoms, but underlying causes of injury. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Courtland is committed to ongoing education and staying at the forefront of musculoskeletal research and techniques. He regularly attends seminars and workshops to expand his knowledge and skillsets.

Whether guiding individuals through their initial steps toward better health or working with seasoned professional athletes, Dr. McCoy is dedicated to offering personalized care and empowering patients to take an active role in their healthcare journey.

 

Daniel Ramos, Massage Therapist

Daniel grew up in Los Angeles, CA and is now a long-time South Bay resident. He brings over 15 years of massage therapy experience with him to BCO. He keeps busy as a husband and father of 8 children. When not taking care of his huge family, he spends time with friends and family barbecuing and hanging out at the beach.

 

Hyungwon Lee, Acupuncturist

Dr. Hyungwon Lee is a licensed acupuncturist born and raised in South Korea. He started his formal education in Shanghai, China, at the age of 18 and graduated from Shanghai University, one of the top TCM universities. During his studies, he trained at Yue Yang Hospital and assisted the head director of the acupuncture department and the chairman of the Shanghai Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association. He received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and was licensed in China.

After completing his studies, Dr. Lee further pursued his education in the United States, earning a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine from South Baylo University in Los Angeles and becoming licensed as an acupuncturist. He went on to complete a Ph.D. in Oriental Medicine from American Liberty University. His dedication to advancing the field of acupuncture has been recognized with numerous awards, including the "Excellent Master's Thesis Award," the "Cum Laude Award," and the "Academic Achievement Award."

Dr. Lee has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of ophthalmology and sports medicine using acupuncture. He has treated a wide range of eye conditions, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts, using acupuncture and herbal medicine. His thesis on dry eye syndrome was published in the Shanghai Acupuncture Journal in 2013 and received widespread praise in the academic community. He has also treated sports-related injuries and helped post-surgery patients recover from cancer and stroke.

Dr. Lee practices in California and is dedicated to promoting the benefits of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture to the American public. He is committed to providing high-quality care and regularly engages in continuing education to stay current on the latest developments and research in the field.

In his free time, Dr. Lee enjoys traveling to see the beauty of nature, working out at the gym, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He is also an avid reader who is always expanding his knowledge of traditional medicine and exploring new interests through reading books.

 

Kelly Wynkoop, DC

Dr. Kelly is a New York native.  She graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength & Conditioning. Her time as an undergrad provided opportunities to assist in high-tech research labs studying the biomechanics of overhead athletes, develop training programs for Division I athletes, study leadership styles abroad in Thailand, Myanmar & Cambodia, all while nurturing her ambition to help people. Dr. Kelly has fully embraced the west coast lifestyle since moving here - she fills her free time with roller skating, surfing, playing beach volleyball & camping in all the parks California has to offer.

She graduated chiropractic school from Southern California University of Health Sciences and completed her chiropractic residency at BCO where she trained under Dr. Julia, specializing in women’s health where she found her passion for providing quality care to pregnant & postpartum moms. She is grateful to serve this often overlooked population as their bodies adapt to the demands of motherhood. 

Dr. Kelly hopes to foster a healthier population that relies less on alleviating symptoms & instead focuses on investigating the root cause of the issue.
